Mt. Zwingli has a vibrant and growing Sunday School program. Children attend the introductory portions of the worship service with their families, come to the front for a brief children’s talk by Pastor Keith, and then are excused to their Sunday School Classes.
Classes are divided into four age groups: three years through kindergarten, first to third grade, fourth to sixth grade, and youth which is seventh through twelfth grade. Mt. Zwingli uses the ‘Seasons of the Spirit’ curriculum for the adult Sunday school, and a new and exciting series called Elevate by Creative Pastors for the other classes.
The year begins in September with Rally Day, during which time we celebrate the beginning of the Sunday School year, welcome new and old friends, and complete a special mission project for school age children.
Mission projects are conducted through out the year. Some of their favorites have included making school bags, disaster kits, the Heifer Project Intl., the WIC program, Summit County Children's Home, and adopting needy families.
In the Fall, Winter and Spring programs are conducted for children of all ages. Specifically, in the Fall and Spring there is a Family Night with a dinner, games and other activities. During the Christmas season the children prepare and present a Christmas program, which is followed by an all-church Christmas celebration potluck. When the formal Sunday School year ends in the beginning of June we celebrate with a Youth Service, which is written and presented by the Sunday School classes. One combined age Sunday School class is held each Sunday throughout the summer months.
The children eagerly await Vacation Bible School. Some of our themes have included living in Biblical time, exploring our Jewish roots, extending helping hands, Vegetales, and a Bug Safari. At the end of the week the children leave with craft projects, new ideas and songs and smiles on their faces.
Throughout the year we have several “movie nights” with pizza, popcorn, and drinks. This is an evening of great fun for the whole family to enjoy and a way to bring new friends to church.
Mt. Zwingli’s Adult Sunday School meets before Sunday service at 8:45. Pastor Keith and lay leaders lead studies about the Bible as it relates to current issues.
Come join us! We look forward to meeting and making new friends.
